Pyramid Analytics | November 26, 2021
A new release of the Decision Intelligence Platform from Pyramid Analytics uniquely addresses a need identified by influential technology industry analysts for Analytics and Business Intelligence (ABI) solutions that can support increasingly complex data-driven decision-making in real time using Big Data. A recent Gartner survey of business executives found that more than half of respondents (65%) believed the decisions they made were more complex than two years ago, while 53% said there was more pressure to justify or explain their decisions.
Governed self-service that enables all users in the organization to benefit from data-driven decision making, real-time query response that doesn’t constrain remote worker productivity, and a wide palette of visualization options for clarity and self-expression are just some of what sets Pyramid Analytics’ Decision Intelligence Platform apart from legacy business intelligence (BI) systems and desktop tools with limited functionality. Pyramid is a unified platform for data preparation, business analytics, and data science that eliminates the need for multiple tools, which come with higher costs and complexity.
Smart, intuitive features bring the power of AI-enabled machine learning and analytics to all decision-makers.
New performance and security features increase the productivity of remote workers with even faster data access and query times. Customized data governance and compliance settings that scale to tens of thousands of users protect enterprise data.
A contextual, natural language Explain feature uses AI to support human exploration and experimentation to achieve deeper insights.
PYRANA direct query engine accesses data where it is stored and delivers answers at speeds in-memory database query cannot, while eliminating the security risks of downloading data to desktops.

Gartner predicts that a third of all large organizations will employ analysts that practice decision intelligence, including decision modelling, as soon as 2023. Pyramid Analytics is best positioned to be the catalyst for this evolution among midsize and large enterprises. Many of its customers have built out decisioning processes, hired data analysts and data scientists, and brought the power of Analytics and BI to every decision maker in their organizations.
VentureBeat reported that “Gartner has flagged Decision Intelligence (DI) as a novel new way for organizations to capitalize on fast-moving data and rapidly changing environments in order to gain a competitive advantage. DI concerns itself specifically with how decisions are made and how outcomes are to be evaluated and improved based on user feedback and other data sets. Gartner says this technology will be in place at a third of all large organizations within two years.”
Gartner writes that, “Decision intelligence is a practical approach to improve organizational decision making. It models each decision as a set of processes, using intelligence and analytics to inform, learn from and refine decisions.”

Informatica | March 16, 2021
Serverless Spark-based Cloud Data Integration engine offering accelerated performance with the help of NVIDIA RAPIDS Accelerator for Apache Spark with NVIDIA accelerated computing is now available, announced Informatica.
The end-to-end machine learning operations (MLOps) capabilities are now accessible to first-time users who can operationalize the machine learning models and to the power of data management with swiftness by RAPIDS data science software and NVIDIA infrastructure.
"Forty-one percent of employees outside of corporate IT are no longer just 'end users' of technology. They are technology producers who customize or build their analytics or technology solutions to support their work”, stated a research paper published in Gartner.
Data democratization is the result when advanced analytics and vast datasets are performed and managed by these technology producers.
Citizen integrators, data engineers, machine learning engineers, and data scientists were offered zero overhead, zero coding data access through serverless multi-cloud data management as they implemented NVIDIA’s innovative GPU acceleration to Informatica’s MLOPs and DataOPs workloads by Informatica. It has thus become the industry’s first cloud data management company to do so.
Manuvir Das, Head of Enterprise Computing, NVIDIA said, "Data science is the backbone of AI, as it is key to transforming oceans of enterprise data into business opportunities.” He further added, "Informatica's integration of RAPIDS Accelerator for Apache Spark with NVIDIA accelerated computing brings the world's most advanced infrastructure to the many industries that rely on Informatica's enterprise cloud data management solutions, enabling customers to speed their data science and AI pipelines across their cloud and on-prem data centers."
This product has proven to be a milestone. The customers will now experience:
1. 5X Data Processing Speed: To produce business insights, data analytics, machine learning, and data science projects depend on clean and processed data from data pipelines that collect, transform, clean, and prepare it for extraction. The data pipelines ran on slow CPUs. Since GPUs are faster, it is possible to process multiple threads to execute simultaneously the data pipelines as they utilize parallel processing. With the help of NVIDIA GPUs to ingest and process data up to 5X, the customers can now speed up their data management workloads and operationalize machine learning models. This acceleration of data processing will make it possible to get faster insights and make a vital business decision.
2. Speed Up Data Democratization: To enhance the computer-intensive AI and machine learning workloads, the accelerated computing was made possible by NVIDIA GPUs and software, when conventionally it was necessary to use Spark expertise and highly skilled developers. Simple drag and drop GUI-based development experience developed by Informatica eliminates any difficulty by changing mappings to sophisticated Spark code. This Spark code can be executed on GPUs at a magnitude. The whole process of democratizing data access with its data integration products has been done by Informatica for quite a few years. Informatica is now extending those boundaries by democratizing GPU access to data consumers.
3. Reduction of Cost of Ownership Up To 72%: Data science and analytics are data-heavy and compute-intensive. To operationalize these projects at their magnitude, a constant feed of cleansed data from different sources at high speed is extremely important. However, they come at a high cost. The customers can now save more as they get to utilize GPU-accelerated software and computing, data management pipelines, MLOps, and DataOps frameworks created on Informatica which saves up to 72% in TCO.
Chief Product Officer of Informatica Jitesh Ghai said, "Data democratization is the holy grail of digital transformation initiatives.” He further added, "You can't leverage the power of data and gain valuable insights if you are restricted in your data access. Our collaboration with NVIDIA is valuable to us in bringing enterprise-scale data democratization and narrowing the gap between the data-haves and the data-have-nots within the enterprise. This important milestone with NVIDIA shows our continued commitment to unlock the value of data embedded in organizations across all levels and more importantly empower all key users to gain faster business-critical insights and operationalize data analytics and data science projects at scale."
