Zoho Transforms Relationship Between Businesses and Their Data by Introducing New Self-Service Platform

Zoho Corporation | July 14, 2021

Zoho Corporation today launched its Business Intelligence (BI) Platform- an AI-driven data analytics solution that empowers businesses to surface precise and actionable insights via self-service data preparation and augmented analytics. The newly launched Zoho DataPrep when combined with an upgraded version of Zoho Analytics, Zoho’s end-to-end self-service BI Platform enables organizations to cleanse, unify, and analyze cross-departmental data, obtain an encyclopedic view of the company, and ultimately move toward a more competitive business strategy based on real-time insights.

The BI platform brings together pre-built visual dashboards, comprehensive data integrations, data preparation, augmented and embedded BI, security and privacy capabilities, flexible deployment models (cloud or on-premise), and scalability. The four standout pillars of this platform which allows businesses to perform better and remain competitive in their industries have been listed below:

1. Augmented Data Prep and Management – A new application called Zoho DataPrep is an AI and machine learning-driven self-service data preparation tool. This addition to the BI Platform allows business users to create and manage data pipelines easily that allows them to integrate, model, cleanse, transform, enrich, and catalogue data before making it ready for analysis.

2. Data Stories- The Zoho BI platform offers an integrated enterprise portal builder (Zoho Sites) and presentation software (Zoho Show). Embedding live reports and dashboards into a website or presentation allows administrators to wrap additional context around data and foster more immersive discussion on business matters. Data Stories reduces friction within an organization so that businesses can be data-driven without needing to learn new tools.

3. Augmented Analytics- Zoho conversational AI, Zia, allows business users to surface data through natural language querying, with or without technical know-how. In addition to that, the all-new Zia Insights provides textual narration of key insights from reports and dashboards that significantly reduces the time and effort that is required to explore data and glean insights. It also includes what-if capability, enabling scenario analysis for effective decision-making.

4. Marketplace- Through the Zoho marketplace, Zoho is enabling partners to develop and publish analytical apps and integrations to complement Zoho Analytics users, thereby strengthening the BI and Analytics platform. Another dimension is the launch of deep native analytical apps, with domain-specific advanced analytics, in third-party marketplaces such as Shopify, ServiceNow and Atlassian.

The new BI platform is built for scale and is extensible to more than 250 data sources which include Zendesk, HubSpot, Microsoft, Mailchimp, Stripe and Google, thus allowing businesses to integrate and analyze data sourced from diverse third-party systems. Data sources that blend with outside have always been the strength of Zoho Analytics, and a value demonstrated by the fact that 60% of existing users have chosen it as their BI tool while solely running on non-Zoho applications and data sources.

This platform gives users on-demand insight into operational data to inform critical business decisions with the support of Zia. The AI assistant augments data preparation and visualization by utilizing natural language querying and generation, text narration of key insights from reports and dashboards, and cognitive and advanced analytics. These capabilities make it easier to capture actionable data insights to boost operational efficiency and productivity.

More than 50,000 organizations are already using Zoho Analytics. It has steadily been one of the company’s fastest-growing products. Zoho Analytics has grown by 30% YoY with a 40% YoY increase in the enterprise segment within the last two years. The application has seen a 10% jump in customers switching from competitive platforms. Also, 50% of the customers have chosen Zoho Analytics after evaluating multiple competitive BI products. With this new BI Platform, Zoho expects above 45% YoY revenue growth.

Deepnote Launches to Make Data Science & Analytics Collaborative

Deepnote | May 27, 2022

Deepnote, an early-stage startup funded by Accel and Index Ventures, released version 1.0 today, making collaborative data science notebooks available to data teams globally. When a company wants to make a data-informed choice, it will depend on data teams to analyze datasets and communicate insights that lead to action. Too frequently, this process is compartmentalized inside a single department, resulting in inconsistent results and out-of-date insights. Deepnote enables data collaboration by addressing three major weaknesses of standard data science notebooks: Because everything is housed in a fully-managed cloud environment, sharing analysis and collaborating is as simple as emailing a link. Real-time analysis is performed, with multiplayer mode available if necessary. And everything is coordinated and stored in one location. Connectivity: With hundreds of native connectors to current data stack technologies like Snowflake, BigQuery, Postgres, S3, and GitHub, data teams can connect to the tools they already use. Productivity: To conduct better work in a shorter time frame, underserved data analysts and scientists are now empowered with productivity capabilities like reproducibility, autocomplete, scheduling, and version control. Deepnote is used by hundreds of organizations, including Gusto's people analytics team. According to Scott Jacobsen, Head of People Analytics and Insights: “Deepnote has been instrumental in centralizing much of our People Analytics work. With Deepnote, we can collaborate on our data pipelines, data science, and analytics efforts all from a single platform. Deepnote’s publishing capabilities also provide our internal stakeholders a rich user experience to easily view insights and see where they should take action.” Deepnote has gained several features since the company's Series A release in January 2022, which will be included in the 1.0 release. The most notable innovation is Deepnote Workspaces, which allows data teams to organize and present data projects, notebooks, and applications in a single location.
