Maxta Adds Analytics to Hyperconverged Software Stack

Hyperconverged software vendor Maxta added analytics to its stack, providing customers with real-time visibility into their data centers and clouds to troubleshoot problems before they occur, the vendor says. The new MxIQ feature, which is integrated into the Maxta hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) software stack, combines configuration metrics with visibility into capacity, performance, and system health across IT environments. It also collects metadata across the entire customer base via pre-installed agents on customers’ servers and securely sends it to a cloud-based service where it’s analyzed. Maxta then uses this data to alert customers about potential impacts on system health and availability. This allows the vendor to predict an issue — such as capacity needs, or whether a drive is about to fail, or whether performance issues are related to storage, compute, or networking. And it then recommends a fix before an outage occurs.
