HPC IN 2020 AI IS NO LONGER AN EXPERIMENT

If we could sum up the near-term future of high performance computing in a single phrase, it would be more of the same and then some. Although no revolution is in the horizon, the four major trends of the past decade  the expansion of artificial intelligence technology, processor diversification, cloud adoption, and provider consolidation will continue to play out in 2020 and in some cases will become more pronounced.Of all the aforementioned trends, the emergence of AI is probably the most significant, not only because it is driving the other three trends, but also because it has become a source of innovation for both HPC suppliers and consumers. That’s not likely to change in the year ahead or even for the foreseeable future.
