Developer Edition of Kinetica’s Streaming Data Warehouse Now Launched

Kinetica announced that the Developer Edition of their streaming warehouse is now available for free download for developers and data teams. Kinetica combines historical and streaming data analysis with powerful location intelligence and AI in a single platform. With this free-to-use edition, developers, data engineers, and data architects will now be able to develop their ideas and proof of concepts without any worry of the expiration of the license.

The COVID-19 crisis has given rise to data and analytics in 2021 with many boards of directors and CEOs firmly believing it to be a game-changer and have placed it as their top priority of 2021, as has been mentioned in Gartner’s “Top Priorities for IT: Leadership vision for 2021”. Merging streaming, location, and machine learning into their data warehouse architecture is the next step for companies. Developers and coders will now find Kinetica Developer Edition to be easier and faster as it will allow them more time to develop analytics applications for data processing, exploration, and visualization instead of building pipelines.

Tom Addis, CEO of Kinetica says, “Our streaming data warehouse was purpose-built for complex advanced analytics, whether that's real-time financial portfolio risk analysis, route optimization and network planning, or monitoring global networks of sensor data to protect the country. He further adds, “It has been a priority for us to provide developers with a complementary offering to our enterprise product with no expiration date, which allows them to see the value before committing to a larger-scale PoC.”

Because of the Developer Edition, it will now be possible for software engineers and data architects to write analytic pipelines with SQL and APIs, ingest data locally on their devices, custom-build apps, or get their data analyzed through a dashboard. The vectorization process delivered on a laptop CPU is the same in the Developer Edition as the Enterprise Edition.

The Developer Edition is free to use and does not require any license or upscale hardware. With full community support, it will accessible on Kinetica’s platform on a singular node running Docker.
Developers can use tools offered by the Kinetic Streaming Data Warehouse like REST, native API in popular languages, and SQL to develop apps more efficiently. The Streaming Warehouse provides real-time data as it is ingested and a wide range of data sources that prompts instant business decisions. To use Developer Edition and Enterprise edition, all a user needs to do is insert an enterprise license key.
