IBM Watson Advertising Brings AI-Driven Weather Analytics to AWS Data Exchange

IBM Watson | January 10, 2022

AWS Data Exchange
IBM Watson Advertising today announced the availability of data from The Weather Company, an IBM Business, on AWS Data Exchange, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. The AWS Data Exchange allows businesses to easily find and subscribe to third-party data in the cloud.

Providing data from the world's most accurate weather forecaster1, IBM Watson Advertising's Weather Analytics harness the relationship between weather and consumer behavior using artificial intelligence to extract deep insights to help businesses make more confident, data-driven and insightful enterprise decisions.

The weather datasets can help analyze how weather affects consumer purchasing across different categories such as pharmaceuticals, apparel, consumer packaged goods and indoor and outdoor activities. Local data by ZIP code including historical weather data, 15-day forecast weather data, and relative data such as hot, cold, windy and other conditions could also be used to help inform campaigns, supply chain and forecasting decisions. This data can even help surface unique or non-obvious relationships between weather and consumer behavior.

"We know that weather can impact nearly everything in daily life -- how we feel, what we do, even what we buy," said Sheri Bachstein, Chief Executive Officer at The Weather Company and General Manager of IBM Watson Advertising. "This expanded relationship with AWS gives more businesses access to the weather data that can drive consumer behavior and purchasing. We are committed to opening up our insights and technology to a broad set of organizations, and giving more companies access to what we know can be growth- and efficiency-driving data and tech."

Insights that show locations where weather could affect sales can help businesses drive revenue based on predictive consumer behavior. According to past IBM Watson Advertising research, data revealed that while chocolate candy bar sales generally go up in colder months across the U.S., sales can spike in the Southwest when a higher heat index is expected, and in the Northeast during muggy nights. In another example, while more bug spray is purchased during the summer months, foggy conditions in the Northwest can drive more sales while clear conditions can drive demand in central states.

AWS Data Exchange helps make it easy to find, subscribe to, and use third-party data from providers in the cloud. Subscribers can use the AWS console or APIs to load IBM Watson Advertising solutions into a wide variety of AWS analytics and machine learning services.

This is the latest example of how IBM is building together with ecosystem partners of all types to create solutions for developers to address the needs of the hybrid cloud era. IBM is committed to a $1 billion investment in its partner ecosystem over the next three years. This investment is already being utilized to support a coalition of enterprises that are helping customers migrate their mission-critical workloads using IBM's open hybrid cloud architecture.

About IBM Watson
Watson is IBM's AI technology for business, helping organizations to better predict and shape future outcomes, automate complex processes, and optimize employees' time. Watson has evolved from an IBM Research project, to experimentation, to a scaled, open set of products that run anywhere. With more than 40,000 client engagements, Watson is being applied by leading global brands across a variety of industries to transform how people work.

Neo4j | November 09, 2022

Neo4j®, the leader in graph technology, announced today the general availability of Neo4j 5, the next-generation cloud-ready graph database. Neo4j 5 widens the performance lead of native graphs over traditional databases while providing easier scale-out and scale-up across any deployment, whether on-premises, in the cloud, hybrid, or multi cloud. The result empowers organizations to more quickly create and deploy intelligent applications at large scale and achieve greater value from their data. "Graph technology adoption is accelerating as organizations seek better ways to leverage connections in data to solve complex problems at scale," said Emil Eifrem, CEO and Co-founder of Neo4j. "We designed Neo4j 5 to deliver the type of scalability, agility, and performance that enable organizations to push the envelope on what's possible for their data and their business." Neo4j 5's specific benefits include: Query language improvements and up to 1000x faster query performance. New syntax makes it even easier to write complex pattern-matching queries. Improvements in indexes, query planning, and runtime make Neo4j 5 the fastest implementation ever. For example, multi-hop queries can now be executed up to 1000x faster than Neo4j 4. These improvements are above and beyond the already exponentially faster Neo4j's graph results over traditional databases. Together, these benefits enable more real-time results at scale. Automated scale-out across hundreds of machines, enabling self-managed customers to grow and handle a massive number of queries with little manual effort and significantly less infrastructure cost. This benefit is achieved via new and enhanced features like Autonomous Clustering and Fabric, enabling organizations to efficiently operate very large graphs and scale out in any environment. Neo4j 5 also automates the allocation and reassignment of computing resources. Continuous updates across all deployments, whether in the cloud, multi-cloud, hybrid, or on-prem. Neo4j 5 ensures ongoing compatibility between self-managed and Aura workloads managed by Neo4j. In addition, a new tool called Neo4j Ops Manager provides a unified single pane for easy monitoring and management of global deployments, giving customers full control over their environments. Neo4j 5 performance lead sets a new industry bar More than 1,300 organizations trust Neo4j's technology to power mission-critical applications while maintaining performance, security, and data integrity. MiniTool Rolled out Power Data Recovery 11.4: New Search Box Added

MiniTool Software Limited | December 20, 2022

MiniTool Software Limited has released the new MiniTool Power Data Recovery 11.4, professional data recovery software for Windows. In this new update, MiniTool Software added a new Search box in the scan results interface, improved the disk scanning speed, and fixed the bug that the status displayed is incorrect when selecting files. Added a New Search Box in the Scan Results Interface One big change in MiniTool Power Data Recovery 11.4 is that there is a brand-new search box in the scan results interface. This new search box is located on the top-right side of the scan results interface and it is available when the scanning process ends completely. Usually, a lot of files will appear in the scan results interface after scanning the specified drive or disk. However, finding the needed files from the displayed paths take a lot of effort. To save time, users can enter a file name into the search box to directly locate the target file. Be aware that any extra or missing space in the filename can affect search results. MiniTool Power Data Recovery 11.4 will show a No Result Found prompt if no related file is found. By viewing the upgrade history of MiniTool Power Data Recovery, we can find that MiniTool has been devoted to updating this software interface for a year. Now, this software has been completely revamped, giving users a more flexible user experience. Fixed the Bug that the Status Displayed Is Incorrect when Selecting Files In the scan result interface, the file check box has three states: unselected, all selected, and partially selected. In the previous version of MiniTool Power Data Recovery, a partial selection might appear as a full selection. MiniTool Software has noted this issue and fixed it in MiniTool Power Data Recovery V11.4. This issue will not confuse users anymore. Improved the Disk Scanning Speed to Quickly Find Needed Files Scanning the selected drive or disk takes time. The larger the disk and the more files it has, the longer it will take for MiniTool Power Data Recovery to finish the whole scan. MiniTool Software keeps continuously improving the disk scanning speed and has made big progress in this new update. About MiniTool Power Data Recovery MiniTool Power Data Recovery is a dedicated file recovery tool that can work on all versions of Windows including the latest Windows 11. It can recover lost or deleted files like images, videos, music files, documents, emails, and more from different types of data storage devices. This MiniTool data recovery software can rescue files even when the hard drive is inaccessible, the system crashes, or the files get lost due to a virus attack. About MiniTool Software MiniTool Software Limited is a professional software research and development company, which has more than 10-year history and millions of users all over the world. It devotes itself to the development of data care software like MiniTool Power Data Recovery, MiniTool Partition Wizard, and MiniTool ShadowMaker.
