7 Steps for a Successful Manufacturing Big Data Project

May 30, 2019

The era of Big Data has arrived. Discussion of terabytes, petabytes, and even yottabytes - that’s a million
terabytes - that were reserved to supercomputing facilities just a few years ago are common in today’s
boardrooms. Companies recognize that there is enormous value in the data they create, and they’re making plans to capitalize on that value as quickly as they can. Manufacturing is leading the way, both as one of the largest producers of data from factory systems, machines, and sensors, and as one of the leading adopters of the new technologies that make up Big Data.
However, the rapid evolution of Big Data technologies, coupled with an incredible level of hype surrounding
these technologies, has led to “analytics paralytics” at some manufacturers. Questions of where to start
and how to apply these new technologies, along with trepidation at the potential scale of deployments, are
preventing some companies from moving forward, especially with specific use cases seemingly so rare at
this point in time.

Manual Replication of MySQL Database Using MySQL Workbench

whitePaper | December 19, 2022

When an Azure region is not available due to issues at the Datacenter level, this should not affect the availability of data. Hence, database replication is required to avoid data loss at any given point in time. Some Microsoft Azure regions do not support Azure database replication in different regions. (Refer to the image given below) To overcome this, manual replication of MySQL database using MySQL workbench is the only feasible option.

Are Predictive Analytics Truly Predictive?

whitePaper | April 19, 2023

Unplanned downtime is one of the most significant pain points for industrial manufacturers today, costing them an estimated $50 billion each year. The risk is even greater for process manufacturing, where a critical equipment failure could result in the loss of an entire batch, environmental hazards, or safety risks. The adoption of digital technologies, such as the industrial internet of things (IIoT), promises to mitigate these threats by forecasting equipment failures and catching faults before they lead to unscheduled shutdowns. However, in practice, several challenges arise when maintenance personnel and operations leaders work to implement an IIoT solution aimed at eliminating unplanned downtime.
