Future Software and Data Ecosystem for Scientific Inquiry

June 10, 2019

This report summarizes five international workshops exploring the highly disruptive effects of the Big Data revolution on the development of future cyberinfrastructure for science. Beginning in 2013 as the Big Data revolution was gathering steam, this series included workshops in the US, Japan, the EU and China, as well as supplemental BoF’s and meetings at annual SC and ISC conferences. These meetings drew participation from all the main institutional branches of the HPC community, including academia, government laboratories, and private industry; and they included leaders from major scientific domains and from all the different segments of the research community involved in designing, developing, and deploying cyberinfrastructure for science.

Data Analytics Labs

At Data Analytics Labs we specialse in data. Structured, unstructured and of a variety of types. From genomic, to image, to sentiment, to financial, we specialise in applying the latest techniques to data analysis. “Big Data” is data whose scale, distribution, diversity, and/or timeliness require the use of new technical architectures and analytics to enable insights that unlock new sources of business value. Organisations worldwide are deriving business benefit from analysing ever larger and more complex datasets that increasingly require real-time or near real-time capabilities. “Big Data” is data whose scale, distribution, diversity, and/or timeliness require the use of new technical architectures and analytics to enable insights that unlock new sources of business value.
