Qlik Collaborates with Snowflake to Release SAP Data for Cloud Analytics

Qlik® and Snowflake, the Data Cloud provider, have extended their alliance with the introduction of a new collaborative solution that enables faster ingestion and onboarding of analytics-ready SAP data to Snowflake through accelerated data pipeline development and ongoing data streaming with Qlik Data Integration. Customers and system integrators will confidently implement this advanced approach to maximize the use and benefit of SAP data in modern analytics activities in the cloud, due to Qlik's reputation as a Snowflake Elite Partner and 2020 Partner of the Year in Data Engineering.

“Increasingly, we see customers using SAP data in their analytical activities in the Snowflake Data Cloud,” said Chris Atkinson, CTO of Snowflake Global Partner. “With this optimized approach with Qlik, joint customers and system integrators will be able to implement a trusted solution for delivering SAP data into Snowflake for analysis and action.”

This solution takes advantage of Qlik's SAP data integration and analytics expertise, and it supports both central and industry-specific SAP modules. Customers will now handle SAP data like any other data source with the agnostic and automatic data pipeline construction capabilities of Qlik Data Integration, due to near real-time and continuous absorption of SAP data through Snowflake's network, including the decoding of SAP proprietary data structures. This allows analytics for previously unavailable or difficult-to-access data from legacy on-premise SAP environments or those that have already been converted to operate on a cloud platform. The joint solution also allows for the use of Qlik Data Analytics with Snowflake for insight generation, including pre-packaged dashboards for several SAP business functions, as well as the use of other third-party BI and analytics tools focused on consumer preferences.

“By deploying a data-as-a-service model, ABB will be able to uberize business decision-making by providing timely access to real-time global data,” said Babu Kuttala, ABB's Chief Data & Analytics Officer. “The convergence of Qlik's data fusion platform feeding Snowflake's modern data cloud with SAP and other data sources enables us to access the latent meaning of our data at scale, allowing us to generate deeper insights faster.”

The solution also facilitates the delivery of the market's first Snowcase, a new Snowflake platform that delivers pre-packaged usage cases/best practices and reference architectures/blueprints in partnership with established suppliers to assist device integrators in accelerating cloud analytic implementations for particular customer use cases. The Snowcase, named ‘Data-Driven Manufacturing Transformations,' integrates Qlik Data Integration, Snowflake, and various LTI solutions (Canvas PolarSled and Mosaic Platform) to provide an end-to-end business solution for manufacturing customers pursuing data-driven transformation on Snowflake's Data Cloud.

“To succeed and win, customers need a solid database that leverages next-generation cloud technologies,” said Sachin Vyas, VP, Data, Analytics, and AI at LTI. “Our Snowcase integrated solution with Qlik is a crucial differentiator for providing analytics data from diverse SAP applications, and it develops core tools to leverage the strength of enterprise data through different market value-chains – something essential to being a data-driven enterprise.”

“We are seeing a major rise in consumer demand to get more value from their SAP data by utilizing the flexibility, reliability, and cost benefits of cloud analytics,” said Itamar Ankorion, SVP Technology Alliances at Qlik. “Customers and device integrators using Snowflake will comfortably and rapidly execute this collaborative approach with Qlik to effectively accelerate time to value, driving more insights and action.”
